Van Gogh

I chose Van Gogh's self portrait because of how heartbreakingly dismissive the man holding it seemed to be about it. I think this portrait is amazing because it looks so much like him yet it has elements that are unrealistic such as the extreme textures and patterns  of the background as well as his jacket. Also, compared to how the movie depicted him, this is a very cleaned up refined version of Van Gogh. None the less the painting is beautiful and the art dealer Theo was showing it to treated in it so poorly which made the painting itself stand out to me.
