My Final Project's Inspiration (Gray Tree by Piet Mondrian)

Gray Tree was painted by Piet Mondrian in 1911. Gray Tree was one of Mondrian's first attempts to utilize cubism in his paintings. Mondrian was known for the purity of his abstractions and his methodical approach towards his art. He simplified the elements of his paintings in order to show what he believed was the spiritual order underneath the physical world. For my independent project, I would also like to create a simple but meaningful work of art. I could use acrylic paint or oil paint to paint something captivating based on a single object, much like Mondrian did with the Gray Tree.
