North Atlantic Light by Willem de Kooning

This is an oil on canvas painting done in 1977, called "North Atlantic Light," by Willem de Kooning. He named it "North Atlantic Light" because of the feeling of light the painting gives off. I chose this painting because it is an abstract painting, which is the type of painting we are currently working on in class. People say that the painting looks like a picture of the sea, and the blue looks like a silhouette of a small ship. Also, I enjoy the very light colors of pink and yellow that the painting has.
