Sunflower painting done by Vincent Van Gogh
Van Gogh's sunflower paintings are always my favorite because it's very detailed in a simplistic way. the low lighting is such a contrast to what bright sunflowers are suppose to represent. the brushstrokes in the background give the painting a different look then traditional paintings. Impressionism is the most interesting style of painting, in my opinion and Van Gogh's work is a mixture pf that and almost abstract. He painted these flowers to impress the artist Gauguin when he came to visit. Later, after the falling out he used his painting of sunflowers as wings in one of his other works.
