Picasso created the painting "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" which was inspired by African art that he came in contact with before hand. He saw these African mask that gave him the idea. According to Picasso the art he saw was not just any old regular art he says it felt like magic. This is a very nice painting because it is very detailed and just screams "culture". What I see is women who are posing nude holding blankets, the painting is very simple but at the same time has a lot of emotion in it. From my perspective the females actually look sad, but have strong character. By observing the painting closely I would say that the painting was done by oil paint and maybe even oil pastel. Over all this is a very creative image that is eye catching.
