This painting is called "Sorrow," painted in 1882. This painting made an appearance in the beginning of the film,
Theo and Vincent, when he was painting a woman that was staying with him. It was really interesting to see him paint such a simple piece with so much emotion. This was unlike any of his other paintings of her because at this moment she was being her true self, not posing. I think the story that was reinforced by the film really enhances the feeling.
