This was painted by Joan Mitchell in 1960. What stood out to me when looking through the photos was that this one had bright colors. I usually don't understand how paintings that look like blobs are considered art, but the more I stared at it, it came off as something beautiful. Art doesn't necessarily need to have a reasoning or be perfect, it simply can be done by an artist because he/she thought it was beautiful. This piece really helped to change my perspective on paintings.
