Abstract Painting

I chose the painting on the left because it is an abstract painting like the one we are doing in class. This painting, Untitled XXII, by Willem de Kooning in 1977. It is displayed in the Mnuchin Gallery.  I appreciate abstract art because it is up to the viewer to decide what it is. I like how these two pieces were placed together because they present harmonious visual dialogue.
